To adjust the width, do I need a pickle fork to get the outer ball joints out of the spindle arm so I can adjust the control rod? Or should it just slide out the way the center axle assembly does? Also do I need to remove the drag link or should I be able to turn or slide this section also?

No pickle fork needed. Each tire rod will have two bolts with jamb nuts; you loosen the nuts then the bolts and the tie rods should slide out with the axle section

Thanks, that is what I thought. My problem is the axle slides but the tie rods don't. I guess I need a bigger hammer. ;) But what about the drag link. I don't see where it could be made longer unless I take it out of the left front arm.
