4600 series engine built in ??

I have been looking at the 4600 series tractors (4608, 4609, 4610). I have read and been told that the 4600s have a SISU engine made in Finland, and assembled by Iseki in Japan. I have been looking at a 4608 and 4610. I was looking at the engine manufactuer plate on the right hand side of the engine. The plate says the engine is manufactured by AGCO "Changzou"... In Changzou, China. Both tractors had the same plate. Dealer was unaware of China and thought they were Finland/Japan. Does anyone on this forum know where they are being built for sure? Any experience with a Changzou built tractor? Thank you for your help.

I believe SISU is now AGCO Power. I also believe that the 3 cylinder engine used in the 4600 series is engineered in Finland, assembled in China, tractor assembled in Japan.

You have answered your own question.

If the manufacturers plate says that it is manufactured in China, it is manufactured in China.

From a AGCO news article:

AGCO Power has opened its newest production facility in China. The plant is located in Changzhou, north-west from Shanghai. The new plant is a part in the global growth plan of AGCO Power.

The plant will produce the new ECO-series Medium-duty-engines to be installed in the emerging market products of AGCO in the future. These engines have been developed by the AGCO POWER engineering in Linnavuori, Finland. They are manufactured in both 3- and 4-cylinder version up to the rated power of 100 kW and are capable of reaching the tightest upcoming emission regulation level Tier 4 Final.

The serial production will start during Q3/2012.

AGCO Power has a factory in China as stated above. I beleive currently the China factory is mostly an assembly facility with many of the components coming from the same European suppliers that supply the factory in Finland.
