4520 load match problems

ok here is the problem yesterday i was using my 2 bottom disk plow to turn my garden over . i was using b range with load match turned on everything was working good for a while then i noticed one time whenever it got bogged down that the tires wasnt turning but the motor didnt bog ether . so i stopped and turned off load match and tried to go and of course it killed the engine witch is normal . has anyone else had this problem where the load match feature is not working right ??

why were you in b range? a range to slow?

You should probably be in A range for ground engagement. Much easier on the tranny. Try it in A range and see if you have the same problem.

while i appreciat the replies you folks are missing the point . the whole purpose of the load match feature is so u dont have to gear down to a lower range . in my situation b range works fine about 85% of the time . the other 15% is when the load match kicks in and gears the machine down automatically so u dont have to stop .

Operating eHydro Transmission

The range shift lever provides three speed ranges.

The range shift lever is used in conjunction with the forward and reverse travel pedals.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Select the proper speed range and gear for the job:

Never overload engine by lugging machine at low idle speeds.

Raise engine speed to match expected loads. If a slight increase in engine rpm occurs simultaneously with moving hand throttle lever forward, the engine is not overloaded.

1. Choose a speed range to match work application.

A Low speed/high power operations such as tilling hard soil, mowing high grass or positioning backhoe.

B Operations including moderate tilling, hauling, and grass mowing.

C High speed operations such as transport and light mowing.

not trying to be rude but if you dont no about the load match feature then dont bother replying . i am well versed in the proper way to operate a ehydro trans .

That is so not true. If it was, then why would they have a range selector at all?

I think the PRV in the hydro was opening up, hence the wheels not turning.

John Deere in the owners manual advises:

LoadMatch enables the operator to prevent the engine stalling during heavy load applications such as operating with a loader. This feature is turned on and off using the display mode switch

1. Start machine engine.

2. Unlock park brake.

3. Choose A, B, or C speed range on transmission range shift lever to match work application.

4. Move hand throttle lever to desired operating speed.

5. Slowly depress forward pedal downward to travel forward. Slowly depress reverse pedal downward to travel in reverse.

• The farther either travel pedal is depressed, the faster the machine will travel.

6. Release travel pedal to stop machine and change speed range.

7. Fully stop machine motion before turning off ignition.

(#3) I don't think they mean to put the selection lever in the C range and start engaging in loader work, or other ground engaging work and "Load Match" will adjust every thing for you. It is not going to happen and damage to the equipement will occur. I think what they mean when using ground engaging tools to put the selection lever in "A" and the "Load Match" will then adjust to prevent stalling.

125 hrs i think . i never said you could just put it in any range and the load match would do the rest . but i did say that 85% of the time the tractor was pulling the implement fine with no help from the load match feature in B range every now and then you could hear and feel the tractor grearing down which let me no it was using that feature . then one time whenever it stopped moveing i noticed no wheels were spinning and the motor was not bogging down . i feel if it will pull the load 85% of the time in B range with no help then thats probley the correct range what say U
