Check out these pics. R4s just aren't that great in the wet mud. 5525 with R1s - no problem. No, the 4520 didn't get stuck - I moved the hay I needed to move without a problem except cleaning that tractor.

R4's are for looks only, but they sell lots of tractors.

Overall, they work pretty good. I just figured I would post what they look like in the crap. If that tractor was not 4wd, I would not have made it - no steering essentially.

Why do people feel this need to bash others' tire choices? Everyone has different requirements. The different tire types fill different needs. End of story.

I hope nobody takes offensive to my post of pics. I figured they might help some people make a decision. I would still buy the R4s again. In the crap, I try to use R1s.

I have R-4 on my 4310 and would not have anything else. They are a decent all around tire. They don't tear up the yard when mowing and have decent traction in mud (as you see in the post). He said He didn't get stuck, what more do you need?? My only wish is they were made from softer rubber compound because on snow I have to use front wheel assist for traction. This winter I now have a 72" box blade for added rear traction. That should help.

I wasn't bashing R4's, I was just trying to get another 20 page R4 vs R1 tire thread going.

That is cool. The windows remain squeaky clean! Thanks for the pictures.

What size blade are you using?

Darin, if it gets a bit higher, you can just use your rear wiper to knock it off.:D

What a mess. Glad I didn't have to clean it. I'd just drive it off in a pond with a cable attached and pull it out next month.

I've forgotten what mud is because I live in an "Extreme Drought" area.
