I'm going to replace the rubber, grease seals that have split after 2 1/2 years and 1,000 hours of service. They are the seals that look like donuts and enlarge as grease is pumped in to them. Has any one done this and if so, is there any thing more to it, than meets the eye? Thanks for the help.

I don't know how similar your grease seals are to the older, 70 series machines... but I just replaced the grease seal on my 970 on the power steering arm/link.

Piece of cake. Has a spring steel clip that fits on the bottom of the grease "boot" which slips into a groove on the bottom of the ball.

I bought a couple extras to have on hand and the spring clips, too. The boots are the same for all the tie rod ends on my particular tractor.
