Over the past two years I have slowly developed an oil leak on the left side of the E-Hydro pump unit on my 4410. I finally dropped the mower deck to get a good look at where the leak is. It is dripping from an approximate 4 x 5 inch plate on the side of the E-Hydro unit which is secured by 4 13 mm (wrench size) bolts. All four bolts were slightly loose. Tightening them reduce the leak but did not eliminate it. Access is difficult but doable to remove and replace the plate. If I remove the plate will I be dealing with draining the entire hydraulic oil content of the tractor e-Hydro? Does anyone know if there is a gasket or if this is sealed by I believe it's called RTV? Anyone else had this problem?:(

Welcome. I suggest you check Deere's parts website to see what's needed for your repair. I use it frequently for seeing how something goes together and ordering parts.

I guess my main concern revolves around how much oil will drain out if I remove this plate. So I'm looking for someone who may have had this experience.

Is this plate in one of these pictures?

Kenny, good job as usual. I'm thinking he needs a #3 part in the 1st picture. Looks like you'll have to try and measure to see where the oil level is behind the plate. Maybe you can CAREFULLY park it on a slight slope to help not having to drain the oil.

Kenny and Kyle-- the plate is the one next to #3 o-ring. I guess the O-ring is the seal or is it sealing something internal and something else is sealing the plate to the case? Maybe someone else has experience with this now they can see which part it is. Thanks for the picture!

Plates like this you don't want to over tighten. Get you a new seal and torque it the right amount for the bolt size.

I have a e-hydro 4410 but have not experienced the problem. I did have the gasket leak for pickup suction screen after I changed fluid/filters etc. I jacked up the front of the tractor very high to save some of the 7gal of hydro fluid. I think all 7gal came out anyway. If it is fresh fluid you may want to try to save and reuse some. It looked clear and I used a painters filter in the funnel to pour some back in. May have saved two gal at most. Almost nothing in the filter, 99.9% clean to start.--fuseboxer
