I have a 4310 with exactly 100.3 hours on it. I've performed all the service which is called for in the manual and everything is working fine except for an occasional noise coming from the area on the right side of the engine in the area in front of the brakes.

I have noticed the noise on four seperate occcasions; but only within the past 15 hours of operation. It seems to appear only after I have been under load, and the engine and transmission good and warm.

The noise sounds almost like a groan...but maybe it's the hydraulic pump cavitating? I don't know. In other words, it sounds kind of like the sound of a throwout bearing makes when it's going out. The noise only lasts about five seconds, and every time I have heard it, I depressed the clutch and the noise stopped. The first two times I was moving dirt with the laoder, the second two times, I was box blading.

I'm running the low viscocity trans fluid, the ambient temp is in the 80s and there are no other symptoms.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem, or can shed some light on potential problems?

Thanks,
Bill
