How does $23,800 with a loader sound?

I deleted my last post (boxblade question) because I put it in the wrong forum.

$23,800 with just a FEL sounds high to me.

Jim,

Here is the quote I received from my dealer for a 4310, 430 loader AND a front snowblower. Keep shopping.

4310 tractor, 4wd, hydro
tall folding ROPs
R4 industrial tires
dual SCV, 3rd SCV

430 loader w/53" bucket
hood guard

59" front snowblower

list price $27,977.33
sale price $21,959.33 plus tax

Next time you ask for a price don't pull up in a Mercedes wearing a Gucci suit. Seriously though, Even with HST, R4 tires, 430 loader with a 4 way bucket, that price is HIGH!

I paid $16,900 for my 4310 epower reverser with 430 loader last November.

$23,586.00 is full list (but not destination and setup) on a 4310 MFWD, eHydro, R4s, and 430 with std. bucket and DSCV. You should be able to get 15 to 23% off that, as well as some kind of promotional money.

Many dealers seem to want to quote high and work down. Many customers must like that, as well. I work in a car dealership that is a one price (priced low to sell) place. There are lots of folks who complain when they won't go lower, never mind they started out at the right price...

There seems to be a lot of whatever is affecting your dealer up there in the nor'east. Must be the water...

I would get on the Deere site and do a dealer locate and see what dealers are in a workable distance (it isn't a good deal if you can't get service...) and request quotes. You can also work up the machine on Deere's configurator and request a quote right from there. Tell them you are going to buy. And let them know that you know the list price, and ask what kind of discount they can offer.

Don't try to beat them out of every penny. Your dealer needs to make money to stay open, but you don't need to put his grand nephew through Harvard, either... In your region, List Price may be the best you can get. That may still be better than getting one from way off and having problems...

I got a great deal this way. With the Dealer locater I found a dealer in a small town just over the state line. They wanted my business to get their quota, but are close enough for me to use for service. I would never had known about them without the locater.

Thanks guys. I thought it was high.

I'm not used to JD prices....currently a Kubota guy.

There's some 'hidden money' to investigate as well. I paid exact 'JDParts' prices (no set up fees) for 4 options added to the 4710 I just bought. I didn't even think about it until later when I read some other threads on 'installation costs' and realized that while my dealer didn't bowl me over with the basic discount (15%) - this little stuff can add up. Plus they'll come and pickup and return my tractor free for any warranty repairs (two 60 mile round trips). In other words be sure you know the fine print of your quote.
