where it says in the manual "Lift Capacity-61 cm (24 in.) Behind Link Arms (4310 and 4410) 999 kg (2200 lb)" , from where is this measured?

what exactly are the link arms, the detachable lower arms or the upper pivoting arms?

chickenman,
they are referring to the lower 3ph link arms... where you would attach to the bottom 2 pins on a york rake or something. so, 24" from there, is what they refer to with that weight. most implements have the weight a bit behind those lift arms, depending on what implement.

what are you trying to lift back there?

im makeing a auger/post driver that will drill down about 12 feet or so, so i was wondering about the weight factor

12 FEET!
wow... that's a long way down....

how far behind the tractor will this need to be?

that's what's going to be the problem, the further back you put the weight, the less performance you will have..

pictures will definately have to be in order if you get something like that going!

i have to drill drainage holes down through a layer of clay that runs up to 8 feet thick to drain water from wet areas on my farm.

ill drill down through the clay and fill the holes with sand

the unit will be self contained with its own hydraulic system run off the pto with a hydraulic driven auger riding up and down a 16 foot I beam and a hydrolic winch to lift and lower the auger

take off the auger gearbox and slip on a 450 lb weight and it becomes a post driver

Have you considered renting a loader mounted unit like a skid steer uses?

ive looked into everything and decided it would be cheaper amd more convient in the long run to have the means to do the work myself at my convience

this will have to redone periodicaly

as the drains silt up

ive got about $3600 invested so far

and still need metal, hoses , pto shaft and a couple more components

say farm, tractor or hydraulic and the price goes sky high
