My JD 4300 has a 430 loader and a backhoe. If I buy a snow blade attachment for the loader, can I somehow use the rear hydraulic piping to power the angling on the plow, or do I have to get the power beyond option?

Also, is there a high capacity battery that fits properly? The original battery lasted 5 years, and the NAPA replacement is now showing some signs of weakness, especially at near zero temperatures. I'd prefer a sealed battery for obvious reasons.

Since you have the backhoe, you already have the Power Beyond option-it's the "loop" that your 'hoe' plugs into. The cheapest way (about $250) for you is to add the "3rd SCV" kit, that adds a handle to the right fender and gives you an extra hydraulic circuit to control anything you want-you actually already have the valve, but no way to control it. The kit comes with the handle, hardlines, lever, and hardware to operate the valve. You can then run hoses from the rear couplers to the front to operate the plow.

As for the battery, if you do a search on the term "optima" here in the JD forum you will find lots of older threads about batteries.
