4240 john deere rear axle

was wondering the pproceedure to replace rear axle bearing people have told me different ways but everyone says can do it without taking to dealer

I think you can remove the outer snap ring and slide the axle out or atleast the bearing cone and seals. The axle shaft is splined to the pinon carrier so when reinserting it you have to line up the splines. Changing out the bearing race might require special tools or pullers.

This isn't a common problem to have, did the oil level get too low?
