Hi Jam242ti, congrats on finishing your first 12 hours. This question is a little hard for anyone to answer, since any fuel consumption comparison would depend on knowing and having identical engine speeds/work loads. The hours meter simply counts the time your tractor engine is running, but not at what RPM, let alone a graph of fuel flow/speed over time. So while your 12 hours may have had an average RPM of 2500, another 424 may have been closer to 2000 for that time. I will say that as a 424 TLB owner, I'm routinely impressed by how fuel efficient the engine is. I'm coming up on my 50-hour mark - I couldn't tell you how many times I've filled up, but it seems fairly seldom. Efficient diesels are Yanmar's claim to fame, after all.
