My tractor, while driving, will just stop moving. It doesn't matter if it is reverse or forward. When iI push the pedals it shows an error code that represents a low charge in the circuit but when I move the 4 wd rocker switch back and forth it causes it to start moving again. The Motion Match switch I also rock back and forth and this seams to help also. When all else fails I kill the tractor and it seems to reset it and it starts working again. I noticed it has started to do it much more frequently as time goes by. This is pretty anoying when trying to boxblade. It does it more b/w going from forward and reverse. I noticed it does it more frequently in "B" range than "A" range. Does it sound like the Motion Match switch might need replacing? Please help.

Look on the right fender there should be a light flashing a sequence of numbers. The picture on the light looks like a book. Let it go though the sequence a few times to make sure that you have it right. It will be short and long flashes. Write them down and tell us what they are and it will tell where the problem is.

In the mean time crawl under the right side under the hydro pedals and make sure all the wires and connectors are tight.

Thank you MFreud for the response. I went out and tried it and it gives 4 long flashes. Its funny cause when I put it in 4wd it usually kicks in and starts doing fine again. I talked to the dealer and he said to change the fluids, so I did , along with the filters, and I cleaned the screens. It still doing the same thing.

4 long flashes indicate that the seat switch is not being detected. Check the harness coming from the seat switch. Maybe when you turn on MFWD you shift enough in the seat to make it work again????

Thanks Roger, I talked to the dealer today and he said the same thing. I am at work for 3 days so when I get home I will check it. Thanks again.

When I had a code in my 4310 my dealer also suggested to change the fluid. I looked at the filter and the PO just had it done. I think when dealers get a eHydro problem they suggest fluid change first and it rarely fixes the problem. My dealer kept putting me to the back burner so I got mad, bought a tech manual and fixed mine myself. I think dealers (at least mine) don't want to fix a electrial problem because they can be time consuming. I am not sure my dealer has anyone qualified to read a volt meter.

The connector behind the seat get lots of water and debris. When I was having trouble with mine (after washing the tractor). I used dilectric grease and filled the connector and have not had any trouble since. Hope it helps.

I forgot to mention that I had put a jumper wire in the switch so I could get off the seat when using the pto, I realized it when I saw it while changing fluids. It is just a pain to not be able to get off the tractor while mowing, tilling, etc. I will look at it when I get back home Saturday. I know it is a safety switch but sometimes those are a real pain in the arse. Thanks for the reply's.

You get off while mowing and tilling? Is your machine remote control? There is a provision to let the PTO run while not in the seat to operate things like chippers, pumps, and generator's-the procedure is in the manual.

Just make sure your jumper is making good contact, or better yet restore the seat switch operation and see if your troubles go away.

Naw, I should have made myself clear. When mowing sometimes you have to get off tractor to move something in the yard. That is just my way of typing, you have to excuse me, I am from south Louisiana, live in the swamp and have dirt floors in my house and get to work in a perro(a small boat) and have an alligator for a pet.... Being funny guys............. On a serious note, what would your provision be so I could get off the seat while the pto is in gear? Thanks

Well, john deere does not provide for getting off the seat while mid pto(belly mower) is engaged. It just isn't a safe thing to do. kennyd I think is referring to rear pto use. You can flip the seat forward and pull up on the seat switch to allow running rear pto. There are some implements that require stationery use. I see in your profile that you are a paramedic. I am sure you have seen the results of people doing unsafe things. It only takes a moment of absent-mindedness to get injured. Please be safe!
