Was mowing with my old worn high hour mower yesterday when it made a clunk noise and started vibrating bad and loss power. I got this mower a few years back and the hour meter is broke at 1700 hrs, Used a lot of oil and was very weak in taller grass, anyway I puled the the head today and it appears the piston is released from the crank a broken rod or something I can push it in but I cant grip it well enough to pull it out to see what broke. I have read on the net that there are a couple options to re-power my mower and I am looking for advice on where to get the best engine for the buck. Is there a rebuild kit that is reasonable from onan. Its a "B" series 20 hp onan. I live close to a small engine distribution warehouse downtown KC and a buddy works there so I will give them a call after the holidays to see what I can come up with. It would be great to drop a fresh strong engine in my mower but the cost may require me to save up for a while.
