Buying Advice 420 Ford Need an OLD CHEAP Backhoe, Found Ford 420 Talk to me about the 420s Please

I got 18 acres and need to do some work. ditches, drains, clean out a creek. a couple of foters, General stuff.

What I am looking at. Ford 420 Diesel Backhoe. Starts good, no smoke, moves good. No hydralic or oil leaks, no fuel leaks. Not even a cylinder seeping. Digger and loader do well. Pins dont have major wear. Fuel injector pump and hydralic pump have been replaced. The Powersterring cylinder does need rebuilding. New battery and new altenator. Tires at least 90%. Little if any roadwalk play in the steering. Good brakes. Comes with 3 digging buckets. All fluids changed 8 m0nths ago. All sounds good, Seems good. This one is $6,000 but every Case 580 I have checked has been $6,000 plus and was in a lot worse shape than this 420. I am talking no brakes, worn pins, injector pump leaking, cylinders need rebuilding.

So please tell me What goes wrong with the 420s. I read someplace "if the power shuttle goes bad you probably only need to replace a couple of O rings but you must pull the motor and dissasemble the trans to fix it.

What issues could this old hoe have that I have not looked at. Or What could I expect to go out on it.

I dont know much about B Hoes. I just tried to use what I have picked up an my Brother in Law showed me.

You pays your money & you takes your chances. There are plenty of old Ford TLB's out there running often and doing a lot of work. Sounds like the one you are looking at is well above average based on your observations. $6K isn't much for a full sized TLB.
