Hello,
Well, winter finally arrived here in Wi. today. Got about 14'' of snow. I got a chance to try out the 4115 with the fel and box blade. I am extremely please with the way it moved around in the deep snow. FWD is definitly the cats ... on a tractor! However... I am not too crazy about the 2 hours it took me to clear the driveway. (my jd 400 with 46'' single stage blower would have had the job done in 30 min. to 45 min.)
so, I will be in the market for a snowblower in the near future. I have been all over john deere's site and cannot find any info regarding my 4115, and attachments that will fit.(I guess if it aint a new model, they don't post info anymore) so, my question is this; Will a 59 inch two stage blower fit my 4115, or will the 47 inch one be the only one that will work on my tractor? It appears the 59'' will fit the 2350. This tractor has similar specs as far as engine, trans, and weight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The 47" Snow Blower is what you need for your 4115, not the 59". I just checked availability for you, and if your local dealer does not have one in stock - it can be had from the factory by 13Dec. (Wis. might even be quicker!) I listed the Order Codes and Sales Manual Information below for you - hope it helps!

Code* Description Weight List Price
1473M 47" QUICK HITCH SNOW BLOWER 340 1,950.00
2007 FRNT HITCH 23/2520,4010-4115 106 569.00
3006 2000 RPM FRONT PTO-4010/4115 12 212.00
4005 IMPL DRIVE 23/2520,4010-4115 51 296.00

TOTAL MERCHANDISE 3,027.00
DESTINATION CHG - C&CE WHSE 122.25

Total: 509 3,149.25

47-in. Snow Blower

The 47-in. Snow Blower works with the 2305, 2320, 2520, 2210, 4010, 4110, 4115, and 4100 Tractors to handle big snow removal jobs.

Works well in all snow conditions and is suited for snow removal around recreational parks, industrial parks, and other applications where snow must be moved greater distances
Ideal for home and estate owners in heavy snow regions
This is a dual stage snow blower which is more effective than single-stage snow thrower when operating in deep or drifted light snow conditions and crusted, packed snow
Hydraulic chute rotation is a standard feature that plugs directly into the dual selective control valve (loader joystick control)
Quik-Tatch Hitch allows for tool-free change between snow blower, rotary broom, and front blade

When/if you order one... make sure your dealer orders the additional "attaching parts" that need to be mounted on the front of your tractor to accept the front hitch. Your tractor probably only has the front bracket to accept your mmm right now. I just went through trying to figure out what I would need with a used blower I picked up. It's a part that will be easy to miss ordering until the blower shows and you're ready to mount it. Good luck...

Bleed Green,

Do you have suitcase weights mounted to the sides of your weight box? Do you have a better picture of this?

Neophyte,

The pics I posted are stock pics from the John Deere Sales Manual - but yes, you can hang the Deere suitcase weights from the sides (or the rear) of the Ballast Box... I personally do not think you need to with the snowblower, but it would definitely help with a front blade. (IMHO) :D

BleedGreen, just wondering why you suggest a ballast box and extra weights with a front blade? I had a 95' JD 870 w/ 390 front blade and the only thing I had on the rear was a landscape rake. Now I've set up my new 3520 cab tractor with the same 390 front blade and landscape rake on the rear. Awesome snow removal set up! Just wondering about why the extra weight?

dirtworksequip,

I do recommend rear ballast more when using a front blade vs. a front snowblower... Rear tire traction is much more important when pushing the snow with a blade - whereas when snowblowing, the blower is doing most of the work.

In your situation, while the landscape rake may or may not be heavier than a ballast box / rear weights - the further back from the rear wheels that it hangs, the more weight it puts on the rear axle. As far as your 870? goes, it is much heavier than a 2320, as is the added weight of the cab on a 3x20 tractor.

Obviously not everyone needs additional rear ballast at all times, ie light snow, flat level driveway, etc. Anyway, just my two cents! :D

BleedGreen, thanks for the response. I was just curious as to why you recomended the added weight. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions.

I have a 4115 with the 47" 2 stage blower. I still think it's a mistke to put a blower on a tractor that is narrower that the tractor............
but it works fine, and has not been a issue for me.
