4110 Oil Filter Non-Original Equipment

I am about to go with the non-original equipment oil filter on my 4110, when cross referencing the Original Equipment oil filter part no. 14501673991 to Fram, it recommentds PH16 and WIX states 51381. Has anyone used these cross reference filters? Any issues?
What other non-original equipment oil filters are in use.

I've used the NAPA 1324 (Wix 51324) mostly for 12 years - it's a little longer filter than the 51381, but I have had to use the 1381 a couple of times and there are no problems with either filter. I've got approx. 2800 hours on it with them.

My 2810 uses the same filter (14501673991) and I have been using Wix 51381 on it. I think the wix cross is the correct one.

I wouldn't use the ph16 as it is a english (3/4-16) thread while the 51381 is metric (20x1.5MM). I haven't put a thread pitch gage on the filter nipple, but my guess is mahindras are metric.

Thanks for the responses. I am going to make the switch from OE to WIX. Purchasing WIX filters from the local auto parts store is also much more convenient too.

Have been using wix /napa filters for 8+ years including the wix 51621 hydraulic filter and wix 33263 fuel filter

Yes, this very day I can confirm the PH16 won't screw on, even though their application chart shows it for a 4110. Lesson learned.

make sure you price out the replacement filters with the OE filters. I've found that the OE filters are actually cheaper than the WIX. I also have 2 hydro filters on mine and one has no xref.

That model has a few S# breaks so be very detailed when crossing these filters.

Also are you going with cross filters because of dealer location or price? I think that stock filter runs around $10

20mm x 1.5 will thread on to a 3/4 SAE, but it is not correct and will be loose (0.037 larger) and will probably come off or start leaking badly at a bad time. Years ago one of our guys put a 20mm filter on a 3/4" thread on an old Iseki and it came off and was a mess. That never happened again! Not all tractors built overseas use metric for the oil filter thread. Odd deal, and worth noting. A 3/4 filter will not thread onto a 20mm, so that is an easy way to test if you have both filters.

As mentioned by Navascot, the factory filter is not too expensive for these and I'd certainly not use a Fram in place of a factory filter. Maybe a Wix or Baldwin if it was correct. We cut open a Fram and compared it with a factory Mitsu filter once and the differences were substantial. Of course a relatively new engine with quality oil can probably run for years without issues even with a low quality filter that does not filter as well....as there isn't much junk for the filter to catch, but I'd still use a top quality filter as opposed to saving $5.
