I was out looking at the John Deere dealer today and was looking at the 4105. 40HP is about the size I want, but after doing a little more research and correct me if I am wrong, but there can't be any factory installed remotes added to the back of the tractor. Another thing I don't like is the fixed ROPS. I started looking at the 4320, which a little more power (can't go wrong with that), but then I started wondering what the price difference would be between the 4320 and 5045E. I know the 4320 has more "updates" than the 5045E, but I don't really need that. I am wondering if I shouldn't jump to the 5045E. It's more power, heavier loader, and bigger tractor. What are your thoughts?

What will your task be? Thats the ultimate deciding factor .

My main tasks will be loader work, brush hogging, and moving 4x5 round bales to our cattle.

When I went to Tractor data.com I got the 1970s version of the 4320 A whole different class of tractor. 110 HP
I would think that the 4105 would be at or beyond it's limits with 4x5 square bales. It is a residential tractor and 4x5s are an Ag task. The 4320 has setups for up to five hydraulic functions and power beyond and can be had with a cab and the 400CX loader. All in all a very nice machine. The 3045E is base machine and can be had with just two rear remotes and the third function on the 553 loader is an add on. More lift capacity both front and rear and a better weight to HP ratio and less money. Comes down to what you want it to be able to do and how you like to spend your seat time.

If you get the 4320 you will have more comforts/options and less lift power
If you get the 5045E you will have less comforts/options and more lifting power
You have a variety of transmission options on the 4320 (ehydro/power reverser) where as you get a standard gear tractor on the 5045E
Loader work with ehydro is very nice, especially when changing directions a lot. It also gives you infinite speeds which are great for field work, tilling, and mowing (no down shifting). Its a tough call, it would really come down to what you want to do, which tractor is more comfortable, and how much you want to spend.
Oh and btw, here is the link to the 4320 compact info on Tractordata.com: TractorData.com John Deere 4320 tractor information

The 4320 is a more manueverable tractor with the three range hydro transmission, has a higher pto hp rating than the 4105 and the 5045E. The 4320 equipped with the 400CX loader and a MX6 rotary cutter would be a good combination imo. This 4320 rig with filled tires would weigh over 6000 lbs and is about the limit I would wan't in a tractor with this power.

The 5045E is bigger, heavier, can pull harder but is slower, and more difficult to manuever.

4105 would be my pick , I have a 3203 and a 1070 . The 03 is a pleasure to work with compared to my 1070 . I'm looking at a 4105 for bush hogging , road grading , very long road , and moving logs . If its not heavy enough I will put a set of front weights on and fill the tires

Thank you all for your input. I wanted to let you know I decided to go with the 5045E and I absolutely love it. I'm very happy I decided to "step up" to the utility class.

Looking at your new avatar picture the 5045E should fill the bill for you. Large open areas make the gear tractor the more efficient choice for mowing and the larger wheels front and rear will do better in the rainy season moving the hay. Congratulations and enjoy your new tractor.
