My 2013 LS 4041 Hyro only has 20 hrs on it. For most of them 20 hrs. it has been used for just general needs of moving some gravel, hauling firewood etc.. A couple weekends ago was the first time I hooked up my 72 in finish mower to mow a couple acres. This was the first time I hooked up anything to the PTO. After the motor got warm, I started to feel the steering felt weird. If I turned either way pretty far (not full lock) and went to straighten out the tires would shake side to side as it was turning and the steering would shudder pretty severely as it was turning. It also seemed to "growl" as it was tuning. I also noticed after I stopped the PTO I seemed to have a hissing sound coming from the rear of the tractor that was not there when the engine was cooler. I was wondering if anyone else has had this same issue with their LS? I read in the book about how the steering/tire shake may be from air in the lines. I thought about bleeding the lines myself, but thought better and just took it back to the dealer I bought it from in Ohio. He observed the front tires shaking both with the tractor sitting on all four tires and with the front tires off the ground via the FEL. He then bled the lines and it seemed to solve the problem, but I wanted to know how air got in the system to cause the problem in the first place because I have never even removed the FEL or used the rear remotes to this point. He did not have an answer. I took the tractor home again that day and tried to mow again. After about 25 minutes the steering/tires were shaking again. He now has the tractor and stated he is going to put another power steering motor on it and claims to not be able to hear the hissing coming from the rear of the tractor. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar issues and how they were resolved.

The hissing noise you are hearing may just be the 3 point hitch valve. I hear it in mine, unless I am raising/lowering the arms. Its basically the valve bypassing the hydraulic fluid by thats not needed at the time for movement.

Thanks for the response!! I hope that's what it is and it's perfectly normal. I just picked it back up today and they put a new steering pump on it. Haven't run it yet so we will see how the steering turns out. I we post the outcome. Thanks again
