Ive had issues with my tractor in shifting, its always been hard to get into forward and reverse from time to time. The dealer even split the tractor and replaced some parts due to it being stuck in forward gear, but come to find out that was due to the safety switch binding the shift linkage. This time however i felt something in the tractor give when i was loading up a scoop of dirt in the bucket and then it wouldnt move any more in the forward range. Reverse still works properly and the you can feel positive engagement when shifting to forward. There is no sounds that come from trans when in forward, its just dead as if in neutral. Ive checked the safety switch and linkage and there is no issues. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with this and if so what components will need to be replaced inside the trans based on the info i provided??? Thanks

So it turns out this was a major repair. The forward/reverse shuttle synchronizer gear had broken into a million pieces. This is the same part my dealer replaced in 2010. I am into the repair about $3000 in parts only, I performed the repair myself or obviously it would be even more. All the gears in the speed section were sloppy and way out of spec. I replaced all the bearings, thrust washers, and gears in the speed section as well as shimmed out correctly. It now shifts better than when new, you can actually shift it without the clutch which I've never been able to do, even driving it off the lot.
Some of the mahindra parts were hard to get, especially with shims and spacers needed to setup the transmission. Also spent the time and money repairing the 15 leaking hydraulic connections from the pump to the rear of the tractor, there was a lot of them. Well hopefully this provides info to others that may encounter a similar problem, although hopefully you don't ever have this problem!!!

I was curious if they make a legit service manual for these tractors.
I think the biggest issue with repairing some of this stuff yourself is having the ability to work with the bulky/heavy components and knowing how to properly manage them. Especially if you're a one man team.
When a tire weights 700-900 lbs, and heavy cast iron housings weight several hundred pounds, it definitely limits the typical Do It Yourselfer.
