Just for fun, I called my local dealer to get a quote on a new tractor as I've been having problems finding a good used one locally. Priced out at $10,900 for a 4010 with FEL....$13,200 including tax, 48" Woods brush hog, and 9" auger/blade. Sounds like a good deal to me but I'm a newbie. Is this a good deal? Any issues with the 4010 I should be considering? I'll be using it for brush hogging & mowing my new 5+ acre place plus doing some general landscaping...nothing too heavy. Thanks for any feedback.

Sounds pretty good to me. Sounds like the right tractor for your needs too.

In late December I paid $13,300 for a new 4010 with 410 FEL and a Frontier box blade. Sounds like a fair deal to me. I have 4.5 acres to mow and build a house on in a few years, so our needs are similar. The 4010 should be a fine fit.

I paid $13,600 tax and all for a 4010, FEL and LX4 plus Markham tooth bar in Nov 04. I have 8.5 acres and mow trails across other acreages. Now have a soil ripper which I've fitted disc hillers on to do and to maintain my raised garden rows, back blade, MacKissis shredder/chipper, carryall, 3 ph drawbar (that I hitch the soil ripper to). Had some issues with the under seat switch and can tell you how to fix it to make it work in the up position for using fixed PTO stuff. I and another 4010 owner have hauled tons of gravel with the 410 FEL, myself about 20+ tons. GOTTA have filled tires PLUS about 300# MINIMUM on the 3ph to keep it from getting tippy on hilly ground.

It's a marvelous tractor.
