I just completed my 400h service at 430h. I acquired a complete filter set, excluding the inner air filter, with hydraulic, HST, oil and fuel, all branded Daedong, with the outer air filter, a Baldwin, from an ebay seller in TN for an even $110 with free shipping. I changed the front axle oil as well using Shell Spirax S4 TXM and as some have said, I too, found the HST to be less noisy afterwords.

I must say that this tractor never fails to impress me as I was completely oblivious to the fact that the front axle oil level bolt was anything more than an overflow indicator. Much to my chagrin when I removed it and determined it was a site glass.

After 430 hours the fluid was quite clean, I thought. The magnet on the drainage plug nearest the mid PTO revealed a very small account of metallic debris.

I've opted to change my oil to Chevron Delo 400XSP Full Synthetic 5W40, too. I was running Mobil1 synthetic.

A also cleaned out the spark arrestor on the muffler.

In going to cut open the filters when I have time for further inspection as well.

Now that I got the hydro oil leak fixed I was able to put about 12 more hours on the Cat this week, so I am only 4-5 hours away from 400.

I need to look up the maintenance chart and see what needs to be done.

I know I want to change the coolant, its been 4 years since it was done, so I think its due, even if they dont require it yet.

I always worry about the fuel oil growing bugs, so I ran it real low (to the point it was starting to stall) twice this week and put a gallon in each time, so I know I have mostly very fresh fuel oil in it now.
I hope that isnt a bad thing to do to the fuel rack......

I wouldn't engage in that practice. When you run out of diesel the pump begins to pull in air, which can completely destroy it along with the injectors.*Not being a fan of additives either, where rarely in the winter months I might add a small amount of water remover, I solely rely on the fuel filter to maintain the cleanliness of the fuel.
Cheers

The fuel line from the tank is on bottom of the tank and gravity feeds to fuel lift pump and filter so there is no space between bottom of the tank and a fuel pickup tube for water to settle out and collect in the tank. Any water in fuel will collect in the sediment/filter bowl. Bacteria (algae) tends to form at line between fuel and water setting in tank, thus with tank fitting at the bottom any undesirable "gunk" leaves the tank into the filter first.
