Help I have been reading posts on what oil and tran oil to use and I have too much info. Can I get a recomendation based on Pa climate. I use the tractor for light loader work, mowing 3.5 acres, and whatever other playing I can think of that justifies starting it up. Is Amsiol the way to go, is Rotella just as good, should I just go to the dealer and get permatran, what weight is the best, it seems like Synthetic is the way to go is that correct? please give me some info on what you all may have used and what not to use.

I would use the genuine oil & filters. I know alot of people are really into the synthetic oils, I belive that if you do your scheduled services when you are supposed to, your oils will be perfectly fine. I don't think you would see the benifits of the cost of synthetic oils. Your tractor isn't running high rpm's or getting worked extremely hard. However it is your tractor and if you choose to run synthetic I, myself, would wait for your next service to give all your components a good break in period. I don't know about your area but around here filters can be bought from the dealer cheaper or about the same as chasing them at a parts store, and the dealer has the correct oil to go in the machine.

I use Amsoil in both the engine and trans. in my 2310. I use them primarily because of the low temperature operation benefits. If you do not use your tractor in the winter you could save a few bucks and use Rotella and Permatran.
Since the synthetic oils do not break down like mineral oils, they can be left in service much longer making the cost equil. (Amsoil recommends a 15k change interval in automotive applications). I change at the factory recommended intervals, but, its nice to know if I could not get to it right away its not a problem.
Don't forget the front axle, and the screen behind the left tire on your 50hr.
