2650Kubota
I am purchasing a new Kubota 2650 and want to get the Kubota 4 in one bucket. Dealer says it痴 a little heavy, that I should be careful. I looked at the different it痴 130 pounds more than the standard bucket. She stated she痴 gonna look to see if the gear more four in one bucket is less weight.

One item I noticed is the specs

3901 with the LA525

Lift capacity (pivot pin) is 1131 lbs (513 Kg)

Lift capacity (500 mm forward) is 855 lbs (388 Kg)

----------------------------------
2650 with the LA534A

Lift capacity (pivot pin) is 1146 lbs (520 Kg)

Lift capacity (500 mm forward) is 827 lbs (375 kg)

So this makes me wonder why it was ok on the 3901 but not the 2650?

Can I get some insight from you guys please?? I don't want to limit my use of the tractor but want it all. LOL.

If a Grapple is suggested which one seems to be the best? Land pride is costly and does not look as sturdy as others and has shallow bottom points.

Thanks

B2650 bare tractor weight = 2,293 pounds.

L2501/L3301/L3901 HST bare tractor weigh = ~~2,700 pounds.

Standard Ls 400 pounds heavier = somewhat more stable under front end loads.

Personally, I would not order a 4-in-1 bucket for a tractor with a bare weight of less than 4,000 pounds. But that is ME. You should spend your hard earned dollars as you wish.

If all or most of your applications involve Loader work, consider a Skid Steer rather than a tractor. The rear engine of Skid Steers make them much more efficient at Loader work than tractors.

Tractors are engineered/balanced to pull from the Three Point Hitch.

I have trouble grabbing a bunch of logs on a single lid grapple. Some just get squeezed out. I can't even imagine trying to grab more than one log with a 4 in 1. In fact, I might say it's impossible.

I have the Kubota 4 in 1 bucket and also the Land Pride grapple. Both are excellent for what they do, but they are not substitutes for each other in any useful way.

That 130 lbs will cost you capacity for everything you do- both loose material and logs.
EA makes some light but strong grapples.

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

It all depends on what you need the implement to do... however both a grapple and a 4in1 bucket require 'third-function' hydraulics to be added to the FEL (Front End Loader). The grapple is primarily a single purpose implement (grab & carry) whereas a 4in1 is a dual purpose implement (bucket scoop & a very limited grab & carry)

Determining what you need an implement to do will be up to you = cost vs. usage.

I've always viewed a 4-in-1 as more of a dirtwork tool, more like a combination bucket, pan, and blade that happens to have a clamping function.

A grapple clamps. Depending on the version/model that may be all it's good for, but most stand alone grapples can also get into the ground to clean up the first few inches of soil.

If I had access to both on a project, I'd use the grapple to remove unwanted obstructions, then use the 4-in-1 to move the soil the way I want it.

Oh, yeah, I've used my 4in1 to back-blade dirt on occasion. The last time was on a horse arena... I opened the bucket and angled it such that I could back-drag (scooping) a high point of excess sand like a grader. I then closed the bucket and loaded up the excess sand; carting it away to use in a round-yard.

As I may have mentioned, I really like an implement that has more than one single use = more bang for your implement 'buck'. Sure, the vast majority of the time you'll use it as a bucket but, every now & then, its other options come to the fore.

To be honest, unlike a Skid Steer, there aren't a lot of implements designed for a FEL.

I'd argue that most FEL attachments have come over from the Skid Steer anyway. People use their little tractors in ways that no manufacturer would have predicted 30 years ago.
