Tractor
JD 5203, JD 3720, JD 4110, JD 445, IH 1586, IH 886, IH 404......
It kind of gets me. First the cab roof seal was shot. I replaced that myself when installing the radio. Now after cutting 5 acres, the three point will not hold position. It leaks down then the tractor lifts it back, happens every 15 seconds. If anyone has any information on this and how hard it is to repair, I would love to know. My dealer is over an hour away.

Thanks!

nmu98, hey at least you got 5 hours! I only got 20 minutes! I think you are experiencing the same thing as I had happen - asthmaticrear hydraulis (or according to the TM - lRockshaft Control Valve Leakage?), I think that is the name of the valve ,y local dealer replaced, but it is the valve that supports the 3PT hitch. Good luck and I hope they get it back to you quick.

I went out to see how bad the tractor looked since I did a lot of cutting after dark. I purposly left the rotary cutter up. I figured it would be on the ground since it was leaking whil;e it was running..... Nope, it is in the same place I left it?

Sorry to hear that. Can't stand something new that has a problem. Just purchased a 125 hp tractor and the shuttle shift isn't working in the low range but works in high range. No one noticed it until I test drove it. At the end of the first week there was no progress and I started barking at them. They had it "fixed" the next day. Went to load it to bring it to me the next day and had the same problem when loading it on the semi. I have lots of mowing and spraying to get done with it. I have put off the spraying but will probably have to have it hired out. I could use it as is, but it would need to be hauled back again. It weighs 13K with loader and weights and I have no easy way to haul it. These newer tractors are becoming a lot of electronics and the potential for headaches are there.

I hear ya radman. The old tracotrs seem so simple... But our old 404 that I keep around because it was my grandfathers has had its share of elecrical issues.

The line to the fuel tank plugged. We cleaned it out, got fuel, now have no spark. Replaced the coil and condensor, still no spark. Not going to be a hard fix, but the old ones still have issues. You just don't expect it out of a brand new 30K tractor.

The biggest issue with this is that the dealer is an hour and a half away. Would be nice if they could send a mechanic to fix it at the farm... Doubt that will happen.

My dealer will send out a tech to work on my stuff. I usually haul it in so they have all the tools, parts there, etc. It is worth asking.

Yeah - they all seem to have something wrong. New anything blues - working the kinks out.

Outta here - going to figure out how to adjust up my round baler (it was used),

UPDATE: I went out today to pull it out of the barn and clean off all the oats and crap that was all over. I could not get the tractor to repeat it. Unless it has something to do with hot hydro fluid, it never got to full temp?

So, I hate to let the dealer take it to try to replicate it. That always backfires on me. I dont think that running it at full throttle in the parking lot for 3 hours then testing it is worth any benifit on a new chasis.

So i think I am going to let them know it happened, let them come out if they want, but not take it in. Unless it does it agin later today.

Just one more excellent example why LBrown59 is on my ignore list. Too bad he does not know the difference between having something to say and having to say something.

Unfortunately, the "Ignore" feature doesn't work when someone feels a need to quote his foolishness.
