4 foot or 5 foot Box Blade

Going to purchase/order my tractor package tomorrow. The tractor is a Kubota B2630 (26 engine HP and 19 PTO HP). Rear tire width is 49 inches. Dealer is recommending I go with the Land Pride 48 inch Box Blade. Do ya'll agree or should I spend the extra cash and get the Land Pride 60 inch. Thanks in advance.

Get the heaviest box in the 48" size. Unless you are ONLY going to drag loose materials around with it. Then 60 would be ok.

I would get the 60". I pull a 6ft boxblade w/ my JD 4110 its 20hp, it pulls it fine, no matter whats in it.

I'm sure your tractor will pull either one but it's back to the old standby question of "your needs and uses". Is money an issue? Your time and your purpose/planned use for the boxblade. Bigger will save a few minutes. Really hard soil full of big rocks will be harder to deal with on the bigger box. Soft soil will be no problem with either. I rarely use my boxblade but wouldn't go without one. The landpride is fine. I have a 4 footer and only want the 5' or 6' when I'm doing a big job with it which is so rare that I won't trade for a bigger one so it's not worth the price difference to me. If I used it more often I would buy the bigger one.

Personally I would go with the 60" so there were a few inches outside the rear tires. If you need to work up to something like a fence or building you will be happy to have those extra inches.

Question, isn't the next size up from the 48" in the land pride a 54" instead of 60" ? May be the perfect size you are looking for. A good happy medium.

My B7800 pulls a 5 foot box blade fine and struggle some when the rippers are all the way down. I do not think a 6 foot box blade would have been a good match for my tractor.

I would go with the larger one so that you cover the track of the rear wheels. I pull a 60" with no problem with my B3030.

I have no intention of trying to pull a 6 footer (72 inch) BB with my tractor. I guess I am just trying to learn whether or not the 1 inch of tire that is exposed on both sides is a big deal or not and if my tractor can handle the 5 foot (60 inch) box blade in the worst case scenerio. Maybe the 4 1/2 foot (54 inch) would be a better option or maybe I should just trust my dealer.
