Today @ 4:30, 4/10/11, NBC is airing a hour long piece on the new F-150. I am sure its put together by Ford so take it what its worth but I just set my DVR. Could be interesting.

It's just all the fake "torture test" they have been putting out on Youtube combined in one show along with the live tear down at the end. Just a 30 minute commercial for Ford.

I bet they won't do a live dyno test on a real chassis dyno showing the power to the wheels...

Why do you have to be such a hater? Nothing fake about it. Ford had another one on the 5.0L the other day showing the technology put into it. Variable cams are pretty cool.

I clearly stated I had a feeling it would be nothing more than a infomercial put on by Ford and that what it was. I would love to see the sales numbers for next week. Just like NASCAR. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

You are right, it was just the test that have been on YouTube for a couple months now but it sure stomped the heck out of the GM and Dodge trucks in the trailer pulling competition:thumbsup:

I could make a commercial showing a Mitsubishi Mighty Max "stomping the heck" out of a Ford in a trailer pulling competition too! Would you go out and buy one if I did?

I love how gullible you Ford Fans are.

Ford would immediately crash and burn if it wasn't for their hype.

I've bought them too, but never again. Their stuff is always overpriced and under proven. Designed just good enough to, maybe, get to the end of the warrantee. Maybe.

The idea that anyone would buy a way overstressed lightweight gas engine thinking it was equal to a diesel for towing and a hot rod for racing, and an economy car for commuting, all in one package, is definitely drinking the cool-aid.

I wish it was true, but time will tell. People will probably flock to the dealers to buy them and do the testing.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying their stock during the crash.

They're all over priced. $45k+ for a truck...

I saw the commercial and do believe it was all on the up and up. I worked at GM Proving Grounds for 40 years and we did that all the time. Before all the cost savings panics set in, there were contests to put the cars back together and run them around the track.

Engines these days MUST perform this way, otherwise they won't pass emissions at the 50,000 mile marker. Power loss = hydrocarbon excess.

Marketting tells Engineering whether trailering is important. Sorry to disappoint you, but its only a small fraction of truck use these days. Nowadays its mostly builder supplies and passenger comfort.

Not until homebuilding takes off will there be a new generation of 'Real' PU trucks.

ha! $45k is just for a HALF TON truck. i looked a Dodge Cummins Lariat 4x4 the other day and it was $53k....didn't have navigation, sunroof, etc. Looked at ever single GM 3/4 on the lot of another dealer, they ranged from $55-60k...didn't have navigation, dvd player, or sunroofs either. oh, and all these trucks had 3:73 gears in them, no 4:10's. Took a look at a 6.7 Lariat F-250 awhile back....$55k.

The reality of it is the Dodge dealer was willing to come off $9k on their truck...sounds good but remember that the truck is $53k to begin with, GM and Ford wouldn't budge pass $4,500 and then they acted like they were GIVING the truck away.

They're all overpriced in my opinion.

Forever the negatives and disinformation. I think the ecoboost will be just the checker for the real truck user these days. I farm, drive a long distance to my main line work, and tow. Finally someone built a flexible unit.

My XLT supercab 4X4 max tow heavy duty package with remote start, vinyl floors, All kinds of radio, XM etc, dead quiet with mammoth tow rear mirror which should get around 20 on the highway compared to my previous Hemis 15 regardless will cost me a flat 34K$.

So stop inflating, deriding, belittling...and realize...some times we just get it right. And go out an buy one:)
