Hi all - I am considering the addition of a 3rd function valve on my 2019 Kubota B2650 so I can install an EA Wicked Grapple. Question, is there a preferred 澱rand you all would recommend over another for my application? Things to stay away from or beware of?

Two types- one diverts the hydraulics from the bucket curl- typically $300-$500 bucks in parts. The other is a “true” third function. It has its own valve that is typically electric with a switch in the joystick. The parts for this type are typically closer to $1000.

I’m not a fan of the diverter type- especially for grapple work. I’m sure BX Expanded would be able to help you out. Or call EA. They will point you in the right direction for a valve kit.

The price is $837 and you get $50 off when ordered with a Wicked Grapple!

No grapple on the planet will enhance a B Series Kubota's ability like our Wicked 55. Very lightweight, but the premium AR450 steel and thick walled DOM round tubing create unmatched strength as well. Customer reviews for the 55 have grown to a whopping 166, which is more feedback than any other grapple in the industry.
If you can tell, I'm pretty excited and passionate about this thing. It's also the most photographed grapple ever captured.

Besides being lightweight and strong, it also keeps the load closer to your pivot pins than any other grapple.

This is a B26, not a B2650, but it is one of the most impressive showings of a small tractor's ability that I've ever seen! I'm talking serious muscle flexing, ya'll.

One thing to keep in mind with most "true third function" options (such as the one listed above by Everything Attachments) is that you can't feather the third function. Other than by adjusting the throttle, there is no way to adjust the flowrate with these setups, as they are solenoid valves that are full open or full close. I have a diverter on my tractor and, while I lose the ability to curl while using the "third function", I retain the ability to feather it, since it's using the same spool in the loader valve that the curl normally uses. I'm not saying one is better than the other. It all depends what you as the operator deem to be more important. For me, the option to feather was more important. For you it may not be. The only way to get a true third function that can be feathered while simultaneously using lift & curl would be to plumb and mount another spool valve with handle off of the power beyond port. But that would leave you operating two levers with two hands simultaneously and steering with your teeth.

One thing to note on grapples, there are grapples with a single, wide top clamp, and grapples with individual left/right top clamps. You can watch "Tractor Time With Tim" and "Outdoors With The Morgans" on youtube to see the differences between the two. Again, it's operator preference to which you might want. I'm just pointing out the difference. The double top clamp version is able to clamp tight on loads of varying height (such as 2 different size rocks), while the single top clamp will clamp tight on the thickest object and drop the rest. However if all you're ever grabbing is long logs or piles of brush, the single top clamp may grab hold better than individual clamps. Only you can know what's right for your needs.

Can Santa fit one of these down my chimney? I've been a good boy...mostly. Santa doesn't need money, right? :D

You can use a common DA manual valve and do it for a couple hundred bucks. Even better than a solenoid valve because you can feather it.
