Does anyone have the 3rd Function hose kit option installed from the NH dealer?

How does it work???

I have asked the dealer , if the 3rd function is operated off the control levers that operates the Remote valve at the back of the tractor. ( he doesn't know , because he has never had someone ask for it to be installed on a new unit )

I have seen some 3rd function kits that include a diverter and switch that can be mounted on the Loader Jostick so the operator has control of the loader and grapple all at the same location ( on the Joystick ).

any input would be appreciated, along with links to web sites that offer 3rd function kits with the swicth that can be mounted on the joystick.

Thanks

I believe someone in the past said that "kit" was just two 15' hoses that ran from the rear remote to the loader's crossmember with a mounting plate (maybe). As I remember, the hoses have to be disconnected from the remote and removed when the loader is removed from the tractor. ...not very elegant in my opinion.

Thanks Jinman,

It is listed as "3rd Function Hydraulic Hose Kit" so it sounds like they are getting $312.00 for Two hoses and a Bracket.

I think I will keep the $312 and just go with an after market system that provides a toggle on the joystick for easier operation of the grapple.

Please don't take my word as absolute "gospel" on this, but that is what I remember from several years ago before CUT dealers figured out their customers would be willing to pay good money for well designed T-n-T and 3rd function diverter valves on the FEL. Since that time, a lot of nice systems have shown up, so NH may have improved their offering. It just sure seems like your dealer's parts guy or service manager could pull up an illustrated parts diagram so they could tell you specifically what is included in that kit. If it's a NH kit, it should be in their system.

Here's but one solution, see if it fits your needs http://www.pineridge7.com/MJE/tc-40d_front_hydraulics.htm

Wish I knew how to use the URL feature like the old software offered.

Using either the Enhanced Editor or the WYSIWYG Editor,

1. Click on the icon of the globe with a little link below it.
2. Enter the URL in the prompt box.
3. Type in the title you want to give the link

When I ordered my tractor and grapple, the dealer installed a set of rear remotes and put a T in each line. From the Ts, lines run forward to where the loader QCs are, and there is a set of QCs for the grapple lines. I have another set on the crossmember for when I take the grapple off the bucket or the bucket/grapple off the loader. I can tap into the lines via QC connectors either at the back, the center, or the front of the tractor. Whatever is connected to lines is controlled by the lever for the rear hydraulic outlets.

I don't find it a major problem to move my hand from the loader joystick back a bit to the grapple control, but can't do both at once. I can move pretty quickly from one to the other, though.

You will spend more than $312 for the diverter valve, or less than that if you have the hoses made up yourself with quick connects and use some cable ties to secure them when routing -

If you grapple alot then the valve/button setup would be worth the money - for me I just move my hand between the FEL joystick, the rear remote lever, and the change in my pocket -

The WR Long kit with a diverter is just over $400 with hoses, QD's, diverter, mounting plate and joystick button.

The WR Long kit that is a true third function is just over $500 with hoses, QD's, electric solenoid valve, mounting plate and joystick button.
