Kubota L4600
Howdy all,

Long time browser, first time poster! I've just taken delivery of a (new to me) Kubota L4600, complete with FEL and BH92 Backhoe. Exciting times! Unfortunately - I didn't think to check about the 3PT Linkage - and so am faced with buying a complete linkage. Turns out that it's only available as individual parts - the dealer has to order individual nuts and washers etc to make it up. So the price is going to be a breathtaking $3.5k for a 3Pt linkage. I can just pay and put it down to my stupidity - but I'm open to any alternative suggestions!

IF I do decide to get it - my next question is will a GRAND L 3pt hitch fit the back of my 4600 (L4600 is the current model in Australia - no 4701 for us) - I figure if I'm going to pay all that money then - getting the 'luxury' hitch shouldn't cost that much more...

I'm still excited about my tractor - just annoyed with myself for not checking!

Cheers

Did you check with the sales department to see if it was still available as a "Wholegoods" item.

Could research if the 3-pt major components are the same as a current model (example L4701) using Kubota Illustrated Parts. Perhaps they share P/N's for the major hitch components. If the newer 3-pt is similar it should be available through wholegoods (sales department, not parts department) for much less.

If needed, I could measure the arm lengths on my tractor. Both the L3130 and L4740 are dimensionally the same, but the L3130 uses a crank mechanism for leveling, while the L4740 has a much cheaper and less user friendly design. Can't measure until the weekend though.

And to clarify... That's sales department, not parts department. Wholegoods isn't handled by the usual parts guys.

Thanks for the tip guys, yeah - I did check with the sales guys - 'apparently' every tractor is shipped with a 3PH - so Kubota only offer spares.

Happy ending though - I went back to the guy I purchased the tractor from (he has a large turf management business) and he was able to apply influence to his Kubota supplier (he has like 6 or 7 large tractors) and miraculously they were able to find one.

So it's all worked out well - just waiting on a LandPride Landplane Grader Scraper, a Carry All and a set of pallet forks to start of with. First project is going to be the gravel driveway - looks like around 20 ton of road base is what's required!

Cheers
