I have a Kubota B2910 with a belly mower. I have the 10 bushel bagger system. It has three bags hanging on the back with a blower on the end of the mower desk that is shaft driven.

The problem with the system is that when the bagger is on the back of the machine you can't lift the 3pt hitch or the mower too much.

I'm looking to build a new collection system that mounts on the 3pt hitch. I was also considering using a hydraulics to dump the bottom out (Power dump).

Has anyone done anything like this?

Regards,
Chris

Can you not just pull the pins that lift the lower arms so they do not work with the bagger on?

Chris,

I built something in the past for a different reason but it may work nicely for your needs.

I started with a set of pallet forks that mount to the 3PH. If you don't have a set, they're only about $50.
I then found a good heavy-duty pallet and used that for the base. It must be a little shorter than the pallet forks. You'll need a few inches of the forks sticking out the back.
From there, I built a plywood box and bolted directly to the pallet.
To keep in place (doesn't slide off the pallet forks when climbing hills) I would use a ratchet strap around the box and pallet lifter (mounted horizontally). Then, I drilled 2 holes into the end of the forks (the part protruding out the back) and mounted a 2x4. I used carriage bolts through the 2x4 and wing nuts to secure.

OK, that was my thing. If I were to do what you have in mind, I would build the same box with the following changes:

Obviously, cut a hole in the top or side to accept your chute. If it's coming in the side, keep as high as possible.

Leave a 1'x2' or so hole in the top. Cover with a screening material (but not so small it'll clog). About 1/2" square would be about right. This will be needed to allow the air coming in the chute to dissipate but the screen would stop clippings from flying out as well.

Hinge the entire back of the box at the top. Put hasps at the bottom to keep closed.

When it's full, back up to a trailer or hole or whatever you're going to do, disconnect the hasps and pivot the rear up. Pull the clippings out.

A couple options:
Cut a hole in the front wall, up top. Insert Plexiglas. You can now see if your bagger is getting full.

Do something to hold the rear door open.

That's a rough plan. Adjust as necessary.

Get rid of the bags and pull a hyd dump trailer. Blow into that and dump when it is full. Some good high sides and a screened top should work very well.
