Hi

I have lots of slopes. My cab 3720 is a 2009 and has the parking brake set with the button on the dash, which is pulled out when the brake is pushed down. My problem is I need to stand on the brake really hard to get it to lock. Most times I need to drop the bucket if I really want it to stay put. The dealer came out and adjusted it once but it still is not really good enough.

I noticed that the new 3720's have the parking brake as a lever next to the seat ie you just pull up on it to lock the brake. This seems to be much easier to lock up. Does anyone have any experience with these and how well do they hold?

My cab has the holes for one of these all drilled, but plugged. Anyone know if I can retrofit the newer brake? My John Deere dealer is not sure and seems not to be getting any response from Deere.

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

I have a 2005 model year 3520 with an open station, and the pull-up parking brake lever works very well.

There is a button on the top of the parking brake lever that must be pushed-in to lock/unlock the level position.

I typically depress the foot brake all the way down prior to engaging the parking brake, and this parks the 3520 very firmly.

I had a 3720 cab with the pull up button and it never worked to keep the tractor - i resolved to parking on flat area with the bucket and or attachment down. I have a 4720 cab now with the pull up (car type) brake and it works much better...
