Snow 3720 grill guard and front snow blower

Hi

I just got my new 3720 delivered with a front snow blower and the 300cx loader.

For some reason JD removed the grill guard, according to pictures I saw in the JD sales literature it shows the guard in place. The instructions for mounting the front hitch even show the guard on in a photo and say nothing of removing it.

Those who have the loader and blower can you confirm that the guard should stay on it.

Hoping for some snow so I can try this out.

I find the centre arm on the lifting mechanism hits the lower cross bar on the grill guard when the blower is lifted all the way.

For what it's worth I'm not happy with the blower and given what I now know would have gotten something else. Biggest complaint is that there is no shear protection for the impeller, just the augers. Any issues I've had have been with stuff jamming the impeller, not the auger. I find what it's doing for me is when it jams it breaks the casting the impeller is mounted to, a $250 touch. I plan on seeing what I can do to change the arrangement once I get back home (in Scotland with the in-laws right now).

Congrats on your purchase, the 3720 with a blower is a blast!

I have the same set up and my grill guard is on. The lifting arm can hit the bottom of the guard if you lift it to high. It doesn't hurt mine when this happens so I leave it alone. Make sure it is in the lower lift position.

I've had no problem with my JD blower after 4 seasons of heavy use. (only 3 shear pins so far)

As others has said it will hit the grill guard. It will bend or break off the little 1" rotating pin on the mini-top link on the front grill. (I know...

Never bothered me enough to take it off.

The blower works pretty decent. I like the drop adjustment valve but wish they had one for both up and down.

Your right I broke off my pin also. No big deal I still use it.

Hello all. I bought a 3720 this sat Summer and more recently purchased a 59 blower for tractor. I'd like to try and install brackets and blower but having problems figuring out what goes where. Does anyone have a manual with how to install the brackets? Or perhaps some pictures of the frame and how the bracket pieces are attached please?
I appreciate any in site and information.

There are two types of mounting brackets. The picture above is the newer style. Post pictures of what you have and I might be able to help you.

I tried to notch the lower brace of the guard but still didn't allow enough lift for me. Drifts around here sometimes require a 2 step approach..... take a chunk out of the top of the drift at full height and then drop the blower to clean up what is left. So I just remove the guard completely in winter. Notice the rubber tubing that lines the cutout.... it acts as a "bumper" of sorts for the adjustable top link to bump instead of steel on steel if you leave your guard on.
