345 starting and warm up

I own a john deere 345 and sometimes it doesnt want to warm up as usual (quickly and easily). Sometimes after running it for a while ill come back to it to start and it'll be a job to get it going smoothly. The air filter is pretty new and there's no debris in the grate. What should i check?

How do you start it? Using the choke?
Fuel filter been replaced?
