The question of a MID PTO and the Power Reverser transmission on these tractors comes up periodically since Deere doesn't let you configure one that way on Build Your Own.

It is definitely an option that you or the dealer can install. The kit from Deere is a little under $600 and is complete with everything you need except the Low Vyscosity oil to refill the transmission ( 6+ gallons).

It comes with an easy to follow instruction booklet with pictures that are not really the best but when you handle the parts it's easy to figure out.

They tell you it to allow 6 hours. It takes about 4 from start to finish and if you own a decent torque wrench you have the skills to do it.

Pictures below from when I did mine.

Nice pictures and a sweet project. What work do you plan to do with your new mid point pto? Front snowblower? Belly mower? Someone will copy your work it looks clean.

I just got home from the farm neighbor 2miles down the road. He has so much tractors and impliments and parts I could stay for a few days and not come home. Two of the farm boys have been scrapping out older combines for parts and scrap steel. Must have 30+ large ag tires in stacks. They claim to have sold dozens. I purchased a few old wheels weights. I will take them to the sandblast shop tomarrow. He has about a 8 sets. Mostly deere. My small center weight starter is 65lb it was off a New holland. It has the same four 10 1/2" center holes at 90-degree as deere. My finish top weight choice is an antique 125lb John Deere cone shape probably from the 1960's. Looks neat and will add 380 pounds inside the hubs with the big old cone shape JD antique in view.
Good buy for $125.00

Using the snowblower will be the primary use. I have a 6ft fine cut flail mower that I use on this tractor for mowing and I have a 2720 with a belly mower.
I am thinking about other ways to use the front PTO and rear draft implement at the same time......

Front snowblower is ideal. For my needs it would be overkill. I can not even justify it by helping the neighbors. Too many trucks with blades in the neighborhood.
