I have a small weep or leak in the left side ram . My guess it is a seal going bad . The ram on the right side is dry . Is this a big job to fix ? How or where do I check to see if my fluid level is low or need to be added ?

I looked in the owner's manual book I have on the tractor and can't find anything on the steering . I would like to know where to add or check the fluid level . I can't believe that someone doesn't know if there is a place to check the fluid level . It might be a stupid question but where does the fluid come from ? Is it connected to some other part of the tractor ? hydraulics , transmission , engine ? Can someone explain ? Thanks

I really cant say for sure as I do not have the same model tractor as you do. But on my Max25 the power steering gets it's power from the hydraulic system. In fact I use the steering to help cycle fluid during warmup on those real cold mornings. (read somewhere if you turn the wheel all the way in either direction and hold it keeps the valves open continuously cycling fluid, could be bs, but it's in my routine for warmup).

I've read a few other threads in regard to steering fluid leaking. Some talk of o-ring kits to rebuild the piston. Might be something worth looking into.

Sorry it's not more... but it's what i got.

The steering, hydraulics, and the transmission use the same oil. Just check the transmission dip stick in front of the seat.
