Hello All- Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm taking delivery of my 2010 3240 gear shift today. My question for everybody is with shifting and clutching. Is it necessary to use the clutch when shifting from forward to reverse with the shuttle? When you shift from high to low or through the gears on the move does the shuttle have to be in the neutral postion? I figured I would ask these questions instead of reading my manual immediately upon receiving the tractor, although I do plan to read it in its entirety. I've been waiting for 3 weeks and don't think 2pm will come fast enough.

Hello All- Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm taking delivery of my 2010 3240 gear shift today. My question for everybody is with shifting and clutching. Is it necessary to use the clutch when shifting from forward to reverse with the shuttle?
Yes. The FST (sycro shuttle) you do need to clutch for forward/reverse and for changing gears.
The GST glide Shift shuttles do not require the clutch for forward/reversing.

When you shift from high to low or through the gears on the move does the shuttle have to be in the neutral postion?
No. Just push in the clutch to shift.
You do need to be at a stop to change ranges. You can shift through the gears while moving.
