Buying Advice 3032E?

Need some advice

Need some advice...Im replacing the trusty 8n with the following attatchements..6' box blade, and 5' brush hog..Most of the work would be the usual front loader work ,brush hogging, and garden tilling and some plowing for new garden spots...No need for a mower have a ztr for that...Trying to be economical in a purchase so as not to break the bank..I was looking at the 2720 and saw the 3032E..Liked the bigger size of the 3032.I know the 305 loader will be basically a permanent attatchment for this machine. Will the 3032 do what the 8n is doing, and is the loader issue going to be a big deal?..Id be willing to look at a different model if I could keep around the price range of the 3032...16,000....NO thats not the quote I got from the dealer..Keep in mind I want hst, position control, and 4wd..Ok have at it:thumbsup:

I have a kubota L3400. Which is basically the same tractor only in kubota orange and a tad heavier. Yes it will do everything an 8n will and then some. Things that an 8n could only dream about, like 4wd, power steering, usable loader, etc.

Since you dont plan on mowing, the loader may or may not be a big deal. I personally like to take mine off when bushhogging for greater visibility and manuverability. So that alone would be a deal breaker for me.

Being able to drop the loader increases the capibility IMO.

And if you have other dealers around, dont sell yourself short and limit yourself to just JD. Kubota, New holland, kioti, bobcat, MF, mahindra, amoung others all make excellent products. You absoultly cannot go wrong by shopping around and testing the waters.

For example, a kubota L3400 (which is being updated to the L3200 and L3800) is very compariable in specs and price to what you are looking at through deere. They are a little heavier so that is better for loader and ground engaging work. They have a removable loader. The only thing they dont have is position control 3PH. But if you can deal with a little jerkieness, they are excellent.

And just to keep in mind, I believe the 3032 and 3038 deere tractors CANNOT have a backhoe either. So if that is in your future plans, keep that in mind.

Well you can drop the bucket easily enough & for about $600 or so you could do the 305 parking kit thing, which gives you to ability to drop bucket & arms (the masts stay in place) about as quickly as is done with the higher price models.

I've got a 3038e & think the positional control on the 3PH is a big plus when you need to lift & lower a lot while working (headland turns, maneuvering while cutting, etc.). I've never removed the bucket on mine, if I did I guess I'd need something like front weights to counter balance the heavier implements (i.e. rotary cutter, chipper, tiller, box blade). I found it to be handy for cutting in overgrown areas, acting as a early warning of hidden stumps or rocks...

So far I've got no regrets regarding the e series "limitations". The price point made it more affordable & allowed me to get more implements sooner. Regarding a 2 speed HST, I have yet to feel the need for anything but "low" while working. It pulls just fine. I was running a middle buster in clay the other day - no problem. Never bogged down, although I did have to watch out for slippage/spinning in the wet spots.

all good points, its really hard to narrow down with all the different colors and specs...Its really a challenge to find the perfect model and perhaps you never will...Do I get position control/ or 1/4 positioning, adjustable links or chains..The list continues..Thats whats great about this forum, is to find out what works and doesnt...Keep em coming

My grandpa got a 3032E a few months ago and it is a really good little tractor. He didn't get a FEL, he has a skid steer but since all it does is grade the arenas you don't exactly need a FEL for that. The only thing I don't like about it is you have to be cautious when pushing the hydro pedal forward in high gear at low RPMs since the tractor will make a bad noise in the tranny. but once you give it some throttle it is better. It pulls excellently in loose soil and is pretty fuel efficient. The 3 point position control is very nice, especially to gauge the depth you are cultivating. I have to say, try to get Deere to throw in an imatch quick hitch, it is very nice to have, especially if you have several implements that you change often. Also, do you have any low clearance areas that you need to get your tractor into? The 3032E has rigid ROPS so you cannot fold them to get a lower clearance ability. Looking forward to your decision, the 3032E is a great tractor but I would recommend trying multiple different tractors so you can find what will suit your needs best.

on the rops I have a 9x7 garage door so I dont think that would be a problem, but need to check on that..also I was wondering if you could change out the fixed rops for a foldable one from a different model

I'm not sure because Deere uses different trannys on the 3x20 tractors verses the 3E and 3005 tractors. Unless you had to modify it to be fold-able. I can go out and measure my grandpa's 3032E for height if you'd like. :thumbsup:

Just my opinion but I found for that amount of money (~$16K which was my budget) you can also find solid reasonably low hour used JD 3X20's or the prior version 4X10 models or the comparable Kubota grand L's. With these "premium" models you get some more amenities, more weight and generally with the larger loader in the model range, a good bit more oomph in the loader department.

I started new and found my money went a lot further used. I am a complete tractor newbie, was not set on one brand or another and it took some searching but I ended up with a private sale 3320 and CX loader with 190 hours for similar money (plus a box blade and rake). I have put about 50 hours on it so far and really have been impressed.

There are many risks to buying used including lack of knowledge about prior use, probably no warranty etc, cash generally needed but it just made sense to me if you are willing to do a little research and do a little looking.

Not to complicate things further?ood luck with the search.

Okay, it is a little under 7' tall with R4 tires. So that's a good base, are you gonna have to use it under trees or anything lower than 7' high?

Yeah Im also looking used but as you found out good units are hard to find unless you just happen to stumble upon one, and so far everyone is keeping all the good ones hidden...haha
