Hi folks, I just bought a new-ish 3032e from the dealer. This is my second tractor and first JD. The first thing that struck me was the exhaust fumes from the diesel which unfortunately makes me extremely sick. I saw a thread (https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/239100-jd-3032e-exhaust-fumes.html) which shows how some people modified their 3032e for vertical exhaust (the first guy's pics are heavily blurred for some reason).

What's the quickest way to get vertical exhaust (a quick fix, because I really cannot use the tractor with the exhaust in my face). What would be a more permanent solution? I'd rather not cut through the hood because I'd probably do an ugly job.

Hard to fathom that the exhaust is in your face.

Notice your Ford 1700 was also a diesel..
Sounds like a gasser is in your future.

That one had vertical exhaust so it never blew in my face, though. Maybe it's the canopy on the 3032e that also traps the fumes as well?

There is a vertical exhaust kit for the 3x20 series, but the kit may not be available for the “e” series. Best to contact a JD dealer to check on your unit. Jdparts.deere.com is a great way to find info about parts. :)

Yeah, my dealer told me to go to a muffler shop. They said it should be done within an hour for about $125 or so. Downside is I need to rent a trailer to bring it to them! Will post pics when done.

I went to the autoparts store and bought a muffler elbow, then to rural king for a chain link fence piece & flapper.
[no muffler shop in this county rolls their own any more, they have all gone to pre-bent parts.]
Drilled two holes in the loader brace for a mount point & muffler clamped the upright to the elbow [and elbow over factory exhaust].
I made the 'stack' long to go above the umbrella shade [gold mount on rops]
I did use BBQ paint on the new parts.

Nice work!

I'm sure that gets the exhaust out of the way. You'll just need to watch for low-hanging tree branches and such.

Glad to see those u-bolts fastened to grill guard bracket, that way when he finds the low branch or shed door, etc... it bends the stack and not the exhaust manifold.

For what it’s worth, my 2019 3039r has the exhaust exiting the cowl on the left side horizontally
