I have a 3032e john deere that needs a 22NF 500cca battery where can I find one all I can find is a 390cca

JD is your best choice for this size and capacity battery as finding a suitable replacement in 22NF is difficult It looks like the part is TY26498 and is $118 with core return. That's not a horrible price given that a 390 CCA battery is around $90. I've had good luck with JD batteries.

I ran all over town looking for a battery for my 4310, JD dealer was the only one that carried the battery
with the right hold downs for that tractor.
Amazingly the cost was about what any other battery in that class cost.

I always cringe when I have to go to JD for something.
You defiantly pay a premium for the name

That's only on products that can be purchased at competitive outlets. There are only a few battery manufactures and everybody has to buy from them. Now if you buy enough battery's, you can have one made with your special requirements, like special clamp features. So JD has to keep the price in line with what other people are selling them for.

Now on the other hand, buying a new widget to replace the one that broke on your JD will cost you. Nobody else has it and you will pay dearly for the privilege of purchasing this replacement part.

So it's all to do with the law of supply and demand.

I agree

99% of the time my Deere dealer has the part I need in stock, if not he'll have it the next day.

Kubota not so much.
