3 pt problems

hello I could really use some help. I bought my 1st tractor 1961 jd 2010. this tractor runs like a top, but has hyd problems. at some point in time a previous owner put a front loader on the tractor, the loader valve is plumbed using the remote oil supply/return lines. the loader does work fine, but the 3pt, even though it does go up and down using the control levers on the dash, it moves very slowly, worse yet I tried hooking up my rhino rotary cutter to the 3 pt and it won't move at all. can anyone out there give me some help on what to check for. also I could use some clarification on the 3 control levers on the dash. I have an operators manual, which says the lever on the far left is only for using the remotes, the lever in the middle is suppose to operate if you have a dual system and the lever on far right( the one that has the numbers 0-8 next to it) is suppose to operate the 3 pt up and down. only like I said when under load the 3 pt isn't moving at all.

Sorry to state but you picked for a 1st tractor JD's worst tractor model ever built. Hyd system on 2010 wasn't very good when they were NEW. Does FEL have it's own hyd control valve? I'd suggest to clean hyd oil filter accessed on RH of clutch housing. Hyd filters are very difficult to properly clean utilizing alternately solvents and soap. You can determine if filter is clean by standing filter on end and pouring hyd oil in it. When hyd oil flows freely out of filter it's clean. Here's the price of the 8" filter AT21513 Filter Element ADD 157.03 USD There is also the option of a 5-1/2" filter.

hello jim, thanks for the reply. the hyd filter is new, and yup I paid about 160.00 for it. so is it ok to be running the loader with the remote oil line? yes the fel has it's own control valve. in order to run 3 pt you have to switch the hoses back to original configuration. ya I heard from everyone and his brother that the 2010 is one of jd's worst models, but there's not much I can do about that now. I guess I ll keep trying to come up with a solution. btw should the hyd system ( 3 pt ) be able to lift approx. 600 lbs. that's what the rhino cutter weighs. ( the brand new one that I can't use, because I can't get the 3 pt to lift it. ) thanks again Garrey

I'll guess a 2010 3 pt should lift 1200-1500 #s. Can you post a photo of how the loader hyd's are attached to tractor? Can you test hyd pressure with a gauge?
