Ck30
I was finally able to get my ck30 looked at. I had posted last month that he 3 pt lift stop working. After speaking to my dealer they were more concerned with telling me their hourly rate and to expect a minimum of $500 plus any parts to start and that was if it was a mere screen being plugged.

At any rate I found a guy down from me who works on various brands of tractors. He went through the standard hydraulic check offs (o rings, clogs, etc). He ordered a kioti repair manual which stated to look for a small bearing issue. After going through the standard checks he did find a small "bb" size bearing had pushed through a retaining plate of some sort. He drained the fluids and found the bb in the filter. He just told me over the phone the plate is approximately 2"x8" and machined. He felt it could be repaired by a qualified machinist. With my vague description anyone know what type of plate he is talking about? He told me he was going to try and get the piece fixed before I spend what he feels would be a very expensive piece.

I would like to hear about this problem and the fix.

What you might do to communicate with your mechanic is look up the
parts in question on a site like Michigan Iron and Equipment, Kioti Tractors, Kioti Implements, Kodiak Attachments, Befco, Hound Dog Attachments, Dk Series Tractors, Central Michigan and
print out the appropriate parts book page.

Or, if you are talking about it on the phone, you can look at the parts
book you bought for your tractor, and he can look at/print the appropriate
parts page.

Finally got the tractor back yesterday. The local dealer was being a pain and not ordering or getting in the right o-rings of all things. My mechanic didnt want to reassemble using old parts.

Anyways the culprit was a blown Spool control in the valve control. The bb sized bearing had pressed through and went to the filter. The mechanic felt it never should have happened and feels it is fixed better than when new. At any rate he had a machinist work on the piece and weld the damage.

So for the 6 week of downtime I saved quite bit. Got the lift fixed and all new fluids and filters changed in the hst for $600. The dealer wanted that much just for a new valve plus labor ($70-80 an hr)plus the cost of new fluids and filters. I imagine $1200-1500.

At any rate I had not seen this as the culprit on anyone else's lift problem.

If the machinist is good, your tractor is as good or better than new. Like you, I don't ever remember a post with the same problem. Thanks for posting it. This will add to all of our diagnosis/cause lists.

Glad to hear you were able to fix the problem to your satisfaction. Interesting, you mentioned that the service manual mentions a ball bearing, (to look for an issue with this); seems it must be a known issue with this series tractor if its referenced in the service manual? No?
I'm somewhat confused on this- seems the dealer might actually be inclined to KNOW about this cause/effect?!:confused2:

The dealer was little to no help. They just said it is probably a clogged screen then went into "expect $300-500 in labor cause it's takes time to remove the seat and cover". I was not inclined to just let them have open range on troubleshooting when the initial impression was not convincing. I just wanted my tractor operating and problem corrected cost effectively.

When my mechanic requested a rebuild kit (orings, seals, etc) they insisted on trying to sell a new valve assembly instead. Unfortunately the few times I have had to use the local dealer for parts etc. it always seems to be based on dollars. When it was under warranty they would change things they felt "might" be a future problem. Honestly, if I was in the market for a new tractor I can't say Kioti would be my choice based on this dealer experience.

So where are you located and who is your dealer? I'm not sure what the problem is with the dealer changing potential future problem parts while under warranty; it was at no cost to you- correct?
If you feel your dealer is less than helpful I can understand going elsewhere, especially after warranty expiration.
You can always look into getting parts/advice etc. from some of the approved dealers on TBN, to name a few, Michigan Iron & Equipment, (MIE), La Voile Equipment, Wallace Tractor, (now Bobcat, previously Kioti)., etc.
Some of the accessible online dealers have a parts lookup available via the web too.
IMHO Kioti tractors are of excellent quality, especially the DK series; but the CK's are also well liked by the many TBN Kioti forum members.
Try not to let the dealer experience sour your liking of the brand.
