3 Point will not go down, JD955

New guy here, looks like a great Fourm. I have a JD 955 that the 3 point will not go down. If I let it sit with a load on it, it will go down in a day or so. Goes up ok. If it is not to major of a repair I will do it. If it is major can anybody recommend somebody in the Phoenix area.

Is this a new to you tractor, has the hitch worked in the past?
If new, one simple thing to check is that the speed adjustment knob is not closed off.(the - direction/slowest)

That knob is usually below the seat.

Correct, if set to slow or- setting it could take a very long time to go down.
