Can I use a 3 point pallet fork to lift a 2000 pound pallet of material? I would like to us the KK one at TSC? it is rated for 2000 pounds. Will my 1533 Massey 2009 Hydro be able to do this? I have a FEL and would put ballast in bucket.

You kind of left thing hanging over in the Parts & Repairs section about the 3pt not working. Did you get working again?
AS for this question. A pleet fork rated for 2000 pounds should carry 2000 pounds. According to Tractordata.com you 1533 is rated at 2800 pounds at the ends of the 3pt lift arms. The farther back from the end of the lift arm the weight is centered on (center of gravity) the lower the lift capacity.

My understanding--and correct me if I'm wrong--is that the 3ph lift capacity is as much related to the ability to correctly ballast the tractor, as it is to the actual lifting capability of the arms themselves. That's why, for example, my owner's manual lists a different FEL capacity depending on the amount of ballast that I have on the rear. I have come close to my tractor's rear lift capability before and, if I don't have my loader on, the front end gets mighty light. It seems like one would have the nose of the average tractor up in the air before one reached a weight that would damage one's 3ph. No?

I have been considering 3 pt pallet forks. I have been trying to determine how useful they would be without a hydraulic top link to be able to adjust angle.

I made a set of 3PH forks, I use them all the time, mostly on the BX now. Alot of people say you need a hydraulic toplink but you don't really, but is does make it nice. Forks are very handy, I belive everyone should have a set. Some tractors will lift more than what they are rated to. The only way you will know if you can lift that try it.

Here is a set of forks.

I just finished converting a set of FEL forks to 3pt for moving pallets of firewood. I'm very, very satisfied with what they will do. Yes, you may have to get off the tractor and diddle with the top link more than you want to, but compared to what I could do without them - I have no complaints. Just have to try to remember to set things down in a level area so I can pick them up again. That being said, TnT would be the cat's wiskers for making this attachment very easy to use.

I have a set of the Agri Supply forks. They are very well made and the price was decent. I do use them in conjunction with a hydraulic top link.
