I'm fixing to cast myself a concrete ballast box (around 1500lbs) for my Kubota MX5100, I was planning on using an 1 1/8 round stock to connect to the 3pt hitch. Will the 1 1/8" round stock hold the weight without bending over time? Are the 3pt hitch pins hardened? I can use the Pins if I need to but I just have this round stock laying around and it would be simple to use?

As long as the round stock is supported close to the ends you should be fine. The hitch pins are hardened but the wear from carrying a ballast box would not be a problem. Pulling a disc with out hardened pins would put a lot of wear on them as they are always rubbing under stress..
