3 Point Hitch on ATV or UTV??

Kolpin makes a Cat 0, 3 point hitch system that fits a 2 receiver on an ATV or UTV:

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these, and how effective/useful they are. I am contemplating putting a 42 or 48" box scraper on my Club Car Carryall 295 (same as Bobcat 2300 with a 20 hp Kubota diesel) to maintain a path with some 40 to 45% grades.

The hitch is a little pricey, and only has a capacity of 250 lbs, but if it can do the job, it might be worth it. I have also looked at a couple of box blades that are wheel or trailer mounted, but they look more like glorifyed toys than workhorses.

I'm concerned that the suspension on the UTV will make the box blade ineffective, and that the 250 lb capacity might not be enough for a good box blade.

I have done a few searches but have not been able to come up with anything useful. I would appreciate any information, including other ideas or suggestions.

Why not get a tow behind grader made for an ATV/UTV?

I saw those but was not sure how well they would work because there is no downward pressure on them, and they look a little small.

Do you have any experience with them?

Also, they are even more expensive than what would cost to buy a 3 pt plus BB

No experience with it. I just found it on a quick Google search

Tractor 3pt hitches generally do not have downforce either. I see the ATV one does. The power grader has a basket for rocks/cement etc. to add weight.

i dont think it would work with the supenson it wouldnt have enogh force to do anything and i have looked at them and they seem a little pricy and for what they cost you could something simiar

I have a setup on my Polaris Sportsman 500. I bought the machine used and it came with the 3 pt hitch and a set of discs. When attached, it locks down the rear suspension so it can provide downforce, and it requires good 4wd since you can lift the rear tires to the point of ineffective.
The PO used it for making some feed lots for deer. I've never bothered to use it since I have a tractor. I think something similar would work for what you want.

OK, that makes sense--I've looked over the diagrams on the kolpin site, and I think I'm getting a feel for how it works. Good point about the 4wd.
