3 point forks

I am looking into 3 point forks and am hoping someone has experience with them. Of course the ultimate would be to ssqa my FEL and 3 point, then have a set of forks I can use on either end. The short term plan may be a set of 3 point forks for moving stuff around my property. I realize I can't lift it very high and it's manual level, but it seems like a handy compromise in the short term. Please advise me and educate me.

I would jump over to rockton rd run into rockford, before you get to auburn st there was a forklift shop there on the left side of the street. I forgot the name of it, but was right across the street from adams equ. co. See if they have a used set of forks and make you a set to fit the loader and 3pt. Later get you a hyd top link then the forks work real good on the 3pt. They are real easy to make and you well have fun do it.

I went on google after I posted and the place doesn't seem to be there now. It had been there for as long as I can remember back and though for sure it would still be there. Check other forklift repair shops, they seem to have used forks around most of the time.

I have that set from titan, used it to lift up the back of a couple cars to drag them out of the way. Quick shipping and decent product.

Agrisupply has a couple of models also. Pretty reasonably priced. I've been meaning to buy a set, but have found other things to spend money so far.

I found a set of used, FEL forks on CL that don't fit my FEL (yet), but that's on my to-do list.
Asking price was $400 and we struck a deal after some discussion.
Modification to attach to the 3pt hitch was pretty easy and has made it a very useful implement.
Top-&-Tilt really makes the forks a pleasure to use and much more productive, especially on slopes & uneven ground.
I'm now a collector of pallets for firewood, material storage, handling and alien technology.

My advice is that whatever forks you get for your 3pt hitch should be able to handle the full power of your 3pt hydraulics plus some safety factor. I found myself taking them to the limit (hydraulic bypass) almost as soon as I started to work with them.

I'm watching CL... most are going for $500 around here. I can buy new on ebay for that. I think my 3 point is only rated 1400 pounds (at 24"- I assume that is 24" out from the arms?). A 2000 pound pair should be plenty. Any heavier will just weigh more and decrease my capacity.

I too have been watching CL (for months now) for a set of SSQA forks, and have seen no bargains, and nothing like I want, which would be a light duty (2000 lbs) 42" set, and will probably just go online and order a set. Bjorn is right about overkill and just wasting whatever lift capacity you start with!

Over the years, i've built several sets... They are an easy project.......especially for these little tractors that won't lift much, it's very easy to build pallet forks for them.
