I know it's not the best idea to run a BH off the 3 point but I think I might be able to pick up a Kubota 4672A for a reasonable price. The guy was running it off of a smaller B series. I think it would be a good size match for my TC24. So what do you guys think? Bad idea? Could I buy or fabricate a sub-frame to adapt it to my TC? I attached a picture.

I think this is one of those things where you really would PREFER to have a sub frame mount but you can GET BY with a 3pt mount in many cases. Now the question is, is your case one of those cases where you very likely won't destroy the tractor by using a 3pt mount? If you are a professional landscaper, then get one with a sub-frame. If you are planning on taking out an occasional stump, you can live with a 3pt mount. If you are a homeowner who is planning on digging your own foundations, running a couple hundred feet of new trenches, and digging a new swimming pool for the kids, get a sub-frame. Basically if this will be a lightly used implement you can get by with the 3pt, making the assumption that everything will fit.

To put the Kubota BH on a NH tractor you will need the top-link bracket configured to match the height and pins of a Kubota
top-link bracket. Here is a link to some pictures of the hookup. Click Here .

If you want a subframe mount, buy the one made for the NH along with the attaching brackets. Then, adapt those parts to the BH. That would be the easiest way by far. All that you will have to adapt will be where the subframe actually connect to the BH.

That was exactly my thinking. I didn't know how generic the sub-frame to BH connection was. I don't want to drop the money for the sub-frame only to find out it would take a NASA engineer to figure out how to adapt them to work together. Would you think a Woods sub-frame would work as well as the NH sub-frame?

If you have subframes available from different manufactures, look at how the Kubota hoe attaches and compare it to the others. You might get lucky and just need to drill different holes or relocate some holes.

Glad to see you are considering a sub frame mounting. I know that Kubota has made factory 3 point hoes but when I use my backhoe I don't have intentions of over stressing it but sometimes you snag a root digging out a stump or pulling a stump out and you could be causing quite a bit of stress on a tractor without the sub frame mounting. I personally just feel more comfortable with a sub frame mounting for a backhoe.
