2955 PTO Shield

My 2955 PTO shield ( guard) has been bent since I have owned the tractor. I removed it today and beat it out straight ( at least I think its straight) or the way it should be.
When I put it back on it doesn't stay up or move in the "chevron" shaped slots?
My question to you guys is what is the shield ( guard) supposed to look like and how does it mount and function?
Any pictures of one that is working?
Should they shield be able to be lifted and stay vertical while attaching a PTO driven implement?
Should the top of the shield be bent down some and go under a spring type metal bracket?

I took my shield off, because I don't have any equipment running that requires connecting to that shield. The shield is a carryover from the old days when the PTO shaft had a cover connected at both ends when the PTO shaft was raw before the present day tube covering.

I run a chipper, a stump cutter, rotary cutter, and roto-tiller, non of which connect to that shield. It hangs out of the way in the shed.

You found the part, so you know what it looks like. Is there still a question?

Is the shield supposed to be able to stay upright and out of the way when attaching a pro shaft? Mine is just not working like i think it should. I was kind of dark when I put it back on so I couldn稚 really see well.

Not sure for your 2955, but my 4300 did not stay up.. and the main reason I removed it.

If tractor operator would follow 1 simple RULE which is ''turn off pto before exiting tractor seat" then the pto shield would be a none issue. That shield has been AWOL from my 4255 for over 20 yrs with zero pto accidents
