2910 ford Power steering. When I turn it hard to the left it locks, and has to use more force to return it to the right. I put the front wheels up on stands and turn each way back and forth. It has a hard spot in the left position when the stop on the spindel (Knuckle).
Could this be a cyclinder leaking by. It is a 1985 model and the sector have ran in oil, so I'm thinking upper worm gear unit, or cyclinder.
The steering slop is about 1/3 turn on the wheel before moving the sector arms. Where could this slop come from other than balls and worm gear. I'm asking, can you help me out.
I know there is some exspensive little parts in there and I would like to know what wares on these, so I will look for it on tear down.
It is a doulde drop arm sterring box.
Thanks
